Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy Intensives

At High Hopes, we provide Aquatic Therapy in our purpose-built pool, using the water’s natural properties to support strength, flexibility, coordination, and balance. Working in water can reduce pain, improve mobility, and promote cardio-respiratory health.

Therapy sessions are personalised to each child, with goals from land-based therapy often integrated into the water for greater progress.

Families can access Aquatic Therapy in two ways:

  • Weekly sessions throughout the year, led by our Physical Therapy team.
  • Three-week intensive blocks, held twice a year with visiting specialists from Spain.

Hydrotherapy FAQs

Hydrotherapy is therapeutic movement in warm water, ideal for children with motor impairments, sensory integration challenges, or muscle tone issues. The water’s buoyancy reduces pressure on joints and allows greater freedom of movement, making it possible to work on skills that may be difficult on land.

Our pediatric hydrotherapy program in Dubai supports children with cerebral palsy, developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, neuromuscular conditions, and orthopedic challenges. The unique properties of warm water help improve movement, reduce stiffness, and build functional skills in a safe and supportive environment.

Hydrotherapy offers a wide range of benefits, including:

  • Enhances flexibility and strength
  • Improves coordination and balance
  • Supports emotional regulation and relaxation
  • Reduces spasticity and joint pain
  • Improves cardiovascular endurance in a low-impact way

Our pediatric-friendly, temperature-controlled hydrotherapy pool includes support systems, ramps, and sensory-friendly lighting to ensure a calm, secure environment. The pool meets DHA hygiene and safety standards, and every session is customized to each child’s goals.

Yes. Our hydrotherapy pool is designed with sensory-friendly features, including controlled lighting, gentle acoustics, and a warm water temperature that helps regulate the nervous system. Therapists gradually introduce children to the water at their own pace, ensuring a calm and reassuring experience for children who may find new environments overwhelming.

The frequency of hydrotherapy sessions depends on your child’s individual goals, physical needs, and overall therapy plan. Some children benefit from weekly sessions, while others attend more frequently as part of an intensive program. Our therapists tailor recommendations and adjust them over time based on progress.
