Biography

Hanin is a certified Speech and Language Therapist with over 8 years of experience working in London, UK. She has extensive expertise in early intervention, complex needs, dysphagia, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Language Therapy from Queen Margaret University and a Master’s degree in Speech Difficulties from the University of Sheffield. She is registered with the UK Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT), and licensed by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA).

Across her career, Hanin has worked in clinic settings, mainstream and special schools, and community settings, including home visits for home-educated pupils, supporting children with speech, articulation and language needs as well as a wide range of neurological, genetic, and developmental conditions, including cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, traumatic brain injury, Autism Spectrum Condition, social communication difficulties and SEMH needs.

Hanin’s dysphagia experience centres on the safe and confident management of eating, drinking, and swallowing difficulties, guiding families and educational settings through IDDSI-informed diet modifications and practical, person-centred mealtime plans, backed by specialist training including the Manchester Post Basic Dysphagia Course and Cervical Auscultation. Her AAC practice draws on extensive specialist training carried out by the Augmentative Communication Service at GOSH and Guy’s and St Thomas’ to tailor communication systems to each child’s profile, empowering them to communicate, participate, and build independence.

Hanin takes a play-based, family-centred approach across all her work, believing therapy should be engaging and collaborative, built around the whole child. She works closely with families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams, and has contributed to service development throughout her career, delivering staff and parent training and supporting supervision and training initiatives.

Hanin is fluent in English and Arabic and can offer therapeutic support in both languages.
